Here you will find ideas, techniques, and resources to engage your students and make biology come alive through highly interactive multimedia and hands-on projects from other educators, EOL, and our partners. Most of the activities available currently focus on learners ages 9 and up, but we hope to be adding activities for younger students as we grow. Check back often to see what’s new.

Podcasts

Listen to One Species at a Time: The story of earth's biodiversity,one organism at a time. Hosted by Ari Daniel Shapiro and produced by Atlantic Public Media. In addition to the podcasts there are multimedia extras, images, a Meet the Scientist page, relevant educational activities and opportunities to call in and participate. 

Contribute to EOL

Learn how you can contribute images, video and text to Encyclopedia of Life species pages.

BioBlitz

Learn about BioBlitzes or species inventories. Read about the Biscayne National Park BioBlitz, and find more general BioBlitz information, such as how to do a species inventory in your backyard.

EOL is developing tools such as electronic field guides to help you interact with the biodiversity information on EOL species pages.
